The clean
gravel should not be dumped into the aquarium in just any which way. The gravel should be banked up toward the back of the aquarium to a depth of about two inches, sloping down to almost nothing at the front. With this landscape setting, we will be able to plant bigger plants, which need a greater depth of gravel, at the back where they belong to. This gravel setting also helps drift fish droppings, fragments or broken plants, stale food and so on down to the front of aquarium where they can easily be removed.
