One of the plants which is available all the year round is the Cabomba. It has many other names, including Fanworth, Watershield and Washington Plant. When it is new, or has plenty of light, it is the most attractive plant, but it is by no means the most satisfactory as it is not tough and is easily knocked to pieces by hurrying fish, and , in the absence of enough light, it tends to grow long and stringy. However, its fine feathery strands are useful to such fishes as those who build nests in which to lay their eggs.
