The fastest growing of all aquarium plants, and one of the commonest is Anacharis, also known as Elodea, Ditch Moss and Babington’s Curse. Even in an aquarium it grows at a rate of as much as an inch a day, and new plants can be established by planting fragments of the older ones. It grows best, however, in a poor light and despite its attractive appearance when fresh, is not among the finest aquarium plants.
