The water jet is very effective in improving the efficiency of lionfish predation by two potentially complementary ways. First, the water jets can beat prey fish lateral line system that serves as a signal receiver interference coming around to it, the water jet can disguise the signal on the system when lionfish attack. Second, the water jet can increase the likelihood of prey head first which in and immediately swallowed immediately annexed.
