Glasses For Aquarium

Good sheet glass can be used for small size of water tanks. For bigger sizes we must use plate glass. For anything except very large aquarium, ¼ inch plate will be quite strong enough. In most cases, the bottom glass must be plate glass, because it will be take the whole pressure from the weight of water. Don’t too much for glasses, we only need first class glass for the front. The side, back and bottomof the tank can be made from “seconds” or even from old car windows. Don’t forget to calculate the weight of water, one gallon of water is nearly eight and a half pounds. The weight of water could tortured and cracked the glasses if the glass size was too thin. Another thing is always use iron angle to strengthen as frame support for your water tanks glass.
