Black Ruby - Barbus Nigrofasciatus

The Black Ruby (Barbus Nigrofasciatus) is native to the streams of the coastal regions of Ceylon and grows to a length of about two and a quarter inches. Its favorite temprature between 75 to 80 degree and it breeds easily at temperature around 78 degree. The male is easily distinguished from the female by the deep red which suffuses his body during favourable conditions.
