The butterfly fish (Pantodon Buchholzi) comes from west africa and is nothing more or less than a fresh water flying fish. It is really a fish for the specialist for it needs to be kept in a large watertanks with surface covered, because this fish can leap about six feet and can only too easily land on the floor. It likes temperature of about 750, and can, with patience, be trained to take stripe of raw beef, meal worms and so on from the hand of its owner. As it is rather fond of small fishes it should only be kept in a tank with large ones, or by itself. It reaches a size about five inches.
